Description
Teflon fabric is made by applying PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) β a high-performance fluoropolymer known for its exceptional stability, non-stick surface, and resistance to extreme temperatures β onto a base material such as fiberglass, aramid fibers, cotton, or polyester blends.
Production Methods
Impregnation Coating (Dip Coating): The base fabric is dipped into liquid PTFE dispersion.
Extrusion Coating: PTFE resin is evenly extruded onto the fabric surface.
Lamination: PTFE films are bonded to fabric with heat and pressure.
Fabric Protector Treatment: For consumer goods, Teflon is applied as an invisible shield around each fiber to resist stains without changing the fabric's look, feel, or breathability.
